Antarctic ice melt 🍦🇦🇶 New research suggests that ocean currents play an important role in the melting of Antarctic ice shelves. Research by scientists from the Korea Polar Research Institute, Hokkaido University, and Seoul National University found that an interaction between ocean currents and the ocean floor causes upwelling, where warmer water travels toward shallower depths. The team studied the effects this had on Antarticia's Pine Island and Thwaites ice shelves and found it to be melt
