What started with chimpanzees in Africa has become a global movement for animals, people, and the environment. Will you join us? The Jane Goodall Institute of Canada uses community-centred conservation to mobilize action on the convergence of three crises – biodiversity loss, climate change, and environmental inequity – in Canada and in Africa.

About the Institute. Dr. Goodall changed the world with her early research on chimpanzees, our closest-living relative. And observing chimpanzees in the wild taught Jane about the interconnectedness of all things; how animals, people, and the environment all affect one another.

When Jane Goodall entered the forest of Gombe, the world knew very little about chimpanzees, and even less about their unique genetic kinship to humans.
