2016年4月17日 · I've had my WD Elements HDD for over two years, I've got approximately 3200 albums of music and god knows how many photos on there. I don't have any of it backed up anywhere else and since today, when I have connected it to my Windows 10 HP Envy laptop, it won't recognise it. I've got another HDD for films etc. and that one works fine.

2022年2月21日 · I have a Lenovo Legion 7 running Windows 10. I'm plugging in a WD Elements drive and it's not seen by Devices and Drives. Going into Disk Management reveals it, as shown in attached images. It's labeled 'healthy', but not NTFS or FAT, which I'm reading are the desired formats for drives in the Windows world, and I suspect this is the problem.

2016年3月1日 · The WD DLG shows the total capacity of the drive, not the remaining free one so this doesn't mean the data is gone. Could you please navigate to Disk Management and see how the drive is seen there. If you post a screenshot of it it would be even more helpful. Can you see the drive on another computer? Captain_WD.

2010年10月2日 · My WD elemnts 1TB drive will not show up on my advent (windows vista) laptop. It makes the noise of something being plugged in and gives me a safely remove hardware option but won't give me autoplay or show up in my computer. I can't find it anywhere. It worked the first time and I moved some files over. Now it won't.

2023年1月9日 · WD Passport worked on the old laptop. WD Smartware will open but not allow for Backup function to proceed on the new laptop with Windows 11. Is Windows Firewall blocking the software from performing? I added WD Smartware.exe software to list of applications to allow through the Firewall. I purchased a Samsung SSD T7 external drive recently.

2018年7月28日 · Newly purchased a WD Elements SE 1TB external device. Surface laptop doesn't response at all but when plug into my Windows desktop, all files show up no problem. The drive doesn't even show up in Disk Management, nor shown under Disk drives in Device Manager. My Windows 10 Pro is up to date. Microsoft Technician please help.

2016年8月4日 · Press Windows Key + X.. Select Command Prompt (Admin). It will show as C:\Windows\system32> Type “chkdsk <drive letter>: /G”.

2012年12月29日 · I purchased a brand new WD Elements 1TB USB hard drive but Windows 8 originally detected the USB hard drive but now does not recognize it after I performed the back-up utility that failed and I re-booted my laptop.
