John Peter Sarsgaard (/ ˈ s ɑːr z ɡ ɑːr d /; born March 7, 1971) [1] is an American actor. He studied at the Actors Studio, before rising to prominence playing atypical and sometimes villainous roles in film and television. He made his film debut with Dead Man Walking (1995).
