Weapons in Oblivion fall into three classes, organized around the three weapon skills: Blade, Blunt, and Marksman. Blade and blunt weapons come in both one-handed and two-handed varieties, whereas bows can only be used with both hands. This page only lists the base (unenchanted) weaponry available in Oblivion.

A claymore is a two-handed sword that is generally stronger and has more reach than its smaller, one-handed counterparts, although much heavier and slower. "Base Value" refers to the actual value without Mercantile or disposition affecting it. "Max. Damage" refers to the maximum amount of damage an item can do, assuming maximum stats and skill.

2017年9月28日 · claymores are long reach, fast two-handers. getting into the range of your enemy, attacking and retreating out of it is most easily done with them. in some cases, you will even be able to hit enemies without getting in range of their attacks. in that case, backpedaling while swinging is a viable option.

2020年7月8日 · Both can probably be outdone with a deadric claymore/warhammer. The game is definitely focused on single-handed weaponry. Broadly, claymores are the best - they're the best combination of reach, damage and speed. Battleaxes do the same damage but have less reach and Warhammers do more damage and have more reach but are slower.

2015年9月6日 · Claymores has a different strategy than long and shortswords. One gets a better range (and more damage, but that is less important) but have a worse block (assuming you equip a shield with your long sword) so you have to stay longer from your enemy and move a lot.

2006年3月20日 · Sadly, there are no "fine steel claymores".... after a few lvl ups, you will start getting "dwarven claymores" which are pretty cool, however.
