Is buying a used MacBook Pro Mid 2012 a good idea?
2020年4月9日 · I have recently bought a mid-2012 15.4 inch MacBook Pro with the Nvidia 650M graphics processor but only 512 MB of video RAM. It was refurbished, sold by Newegg, and it was a reasonable deal at around US$500, since the battery didn't need to be replaced, and since a 1 TB SSD and 16 GB of RAM are inexpensive now.

Is it worth upgrading a MBP 13” (mid-2012) model?
2020年11月26日 · If you read my other posts you will see I am very much an advocate for keeping the 2012 MacBook Pro 13 running. For around $100 for 16 GB ram (I bought a 16GB kit used in ebay for $38) and a 500GB SSD (I use the Crucial MX500 series, you can get them for around $60 now) and you will love the speed, mine boots in about 20 seconds.

2010年5月20日 · Thankfully, I don't think there's a single piece of AMD hardware in my MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Late 2012) for which there'd be a driver for. That machine is all Intel, including it's lame integrated graphics. But I get the strong impression that Apple's Boot Camp drivers are seldom kept fresh these days.
Most stable and secure MacOS for a MBP 15" mid 2012
2015年5月20日 · I agree with you: the MBP 2012 is a very well-build MBP and easily upgradable. Mojave is known as one of the most stable OS versions , like e.g. Snow Leopard back in the days. I'm using a MBP 2012 (tbh "sharing" with my daughter) on daily basis and it's rocksolid running Mojave , 16GB RAM and a Samsung 850 EVO.
What is the best version of macOS for a mid-2012 MacBook Pro?
2023年7月29日 · I have a 13" MacBook Pro from mid-2012 (2.9 GHz Intel Core i7 dual-core; 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3) and I'm undecided on which macOS will be best. As the last natively compatible version is Catalina - a now-discontinued software, with no more security updates and some applications whose latest versions are incompatible - I installed macOS Monterey ...

2008年4月19日 · (I upgraded my MBP 2010 13” to 16 gb ram and 500 SSD from HDD, so I’m relatively confident I can do the upgrades to the 2012.) Checking OWC the needed battery isn't available for 65 days. Ifixit shows in and out of stock. Since both of their batteries can have problems, I’m very hesitant to try one from Amazon.
M1 Air comparison with MacBook Pro 2012? - MacRumors Forums
My 2012 15" MacBook Pro 16GB Ram, 512GB HD is on its last legs and I would love a 15" M1 Air but they don't exist so i'll settle for the 13" Air instead. The heaviest use I currently give my MacBook Pro is copying Sky Q recordings onto it via game capture device, and then reducing the file sizes via Handbrake to transfer to ext HD.

2023年8月22日 · Last year, I installed Monterey with a patcher on a partition of my MacBook Pro 9.2 (13-inch, Mid-2012), which has been working fairly well. Recently, the software update in "about-this-mac" suggested to upgrade to Ventura. Is it possible and worth to upgrade from a patched Monterey to Ventura
