So, Wonder Woman was correct—she lifted the vehicles to prevent them from escaping by rear wheel drive. In the 70s episodes she did lift up a couple vehicles from the front. But her superhero strength prevented the bad guys from getting away, even though the tires were still burning rubber with the rear wheel drive.
