Hassan Nasrallah (Arabic: حسن نصر الله, romanized: Ḥasan Naṣr-Allāh, pronounced [ˈħasan nasˤraˈɫːaːh]; 31 August 1960 – 27 September 2024) was a Lebanese cleric and politician who served as the third secretary-general of Hezbollah, a Shia Islamist political party and militia, from 1992 until his assassination in 2024.

DUBAI, Sept 28 (Reuters) - Lebanon's Hezbollah confirmed on Saturday that its leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah was killed.

Hassan Nasrallah is the third Secretary General of Hezbollah, and its most recognizable political and religious figure. Various dates are given for Nasrallah’s birth. However, Hezbollah’s official website says he was born on August 31, 1960 in the south Lebanon village of al-Bazouriyeh, on the outskirts of the city of Tyre.
