The jeweler will not be able to tell you if they are Mikimoto brand pearls. Only Mikimoto can authenticate them, but that service would cost you more or less the same as you paid for the pearls.

There was a Mikimoto necklace EXACTLY the same as one I saw on EBay and the EBay necklace was $9,800 and the Rubylane necklace was $25,800, for the same necklace...well, perhaps the Rubylane came with something extra like papers, etc. I didn't check into it that closely.

2013年5月30日 · Richelieu pearls were made by Japanese who placed bits of mother of pearl in oysters. The oysters covered the bits of pearl with layers of nacre. The pearls grew to maturity within five to eight years. The pearls are perfect on one side, the lower side being coated with mother of pearl. Their cost was about one tenth the cost of genuine pearls.

I got what I consider a amazing deal, and am just interested to learn the quality ratings, and possible resale values, although I think replacement would be a higher number, given that resale for pearls seems quite low most of the time.

2004年6月22日 · I was recently given my mother's Orienta start-her-necklace. I don't know anything about these pearls or how valuable they are. The box says "Orienta cultured pearls" and an insert says "additions for 'start-her-necklace'" with a chart on the back to list the additions. The 14K necklace has 14 5mm pearls on it.
