Olvera Street is in the northeast of modern-day Downtown Los Angeles, between Main and Alameda streets, running north from the Los Angeles Plaza to Cesar Chavez Avenue. It is part of El Pueblo de Los Ángeles Historical Monument, the area immediately around the Plaza. This is west of Union Station and southeast of Chinatown.

2018年12月4日 · The first Olvera Street cross was carved by Mrs. Florence Walker in 1929 to honor the city’s 148th birthday. Over time, weather and erosion requires a newly commissioned art work. The current wooden cross was carved by Mr. Jackie Hadnot and installed on Saturday, April 15, 2017 during the Blessing of the Animals celebration.

Olvera Street is a small pedestrian street leading off of the central plaza of the original Pueblo of Los Angeles, founded in 1781. Lined with eateries and shops, it leads from the plaza to Cesar Chavez Avenue and contains many of the oldest buildings in Los Angeles.
