2015年12月18日 · NASA’s Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO) recently captured a unique view of Earth from the spacecraft’s vantage point in orbit around the moon. “The image is simply stunning,” said Noah Petro, Deputy Project Scientist for LRO at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland.

From the Moon, Earth is an ideal reference point to calibrate the cameras. The Narrow Angle Cameras—the cameras designed to capture the most detailed images of the Moon—took this image during calibration. The image is a mosaic of the views recorded by the Narrow Angle Camera Left and Narrow Angle Camera Right.
