Completed in June 2024, the Overture Superfactory in Greensboro, North Carolina is where Overture will be assembled and delivered to Boom’s airline partners.

The Overture Superfactory campus will also include a delivery center where airlines including United Airlines, American Airlines, and Japan Airlines will receive their supersonic aircraft.

Boom is a closely-held private company. Boom backers include well-known investors and entrepreneurs, such as Bessemer Venture Partners, Y Combinator, and Emerson Collective — along with the founders and backers of renowned companies such as OpenAI, LinkedIn, Google, Stripe, and Airbnb.

United will purchase 15 of Boom’s ‘Overture’ airliners, once Overture meets United’s demanding safety, operating, and sustainability requirements, with an option for 35 more aircraft. Slated to carry passengers in 2029, Overture will fly on up to 100% sustainable aviation fuel (SAF).
