Alkimos was a Greek-owned merchant ship which was wrecked on the coast north of Perth, Western Australia in 1963. A nearby locality was later named after the vessel. The wreck is a popular diving venue.

In 1963 a merchant ship named Alkimos ran aground several times along the coast of Western Australia, beginning on a reef off Beagle Island 240 kilometres north of Perth on March 20 and finally stranding itself 56 kilometres north of Perth near Quinns Rocks.

The wreck of the Alkimos sits stranded and rusting away north of Mindarie Keys. The ship has been there since 1963 and anyone going too near to the ship is said to be plagued by bad luck. Strange lights have also been seen in the ship at night.

After four months anchored at sea, the Alkimos broke free and in May 1964, the Alkimos wrecked itself on Eglinton Rocks, 4.95Nm due North from Mindarie Marina. So severely damaged that any thoughts of salvage were soon dismissed. Eventually, sold for scrap – yet even this did not go smoothly as a fire aboard the wreck quickly stopped the work.
