The BOSS 302 heads used some of the biggest valves in the industry. 1969 Intake - 2.23 inches Exhaust - 1.72 inches. 1970 Intake - 2.19 inches Exhaust - 1.72 inches. Said to be "overvalved" for street performance. Above you see a casting with a D1ZE part number. Parts made from tooling for the cancelled 1971 BOSS 302 were used for service.

The BOSS 302 T/A heads used by P.J. and Folmer had the floor of the intake ports raised when the heads were cast. That is why the Mini-plenum manifolds have smaller ports than a standard BOSS 302 head. [Q] [R] Q: Did '69 & '70 BOSS 302s come from the factory with the rear wheel lips rolled? A: No.

2022年2月3日 · The highly desirable Shaker option was available on Mustangs for only two years, 1969 and 1970. BOSS 302 Mustangs had the Shaker available only in 1970. Shakers were available for the following engines, 351W, 351C, 390HP, 428 Cobra Jet, and the BOSS 302. Mustangs that came with the Shaker option used the same hoods.

The BOSS 302 was planned for 1971 but cancelled just before production began. Most of the tooling for the 1971 parts was complete so 1971 parts were produced and used for later service parts. They turn up occasionally like this intake manifold with part number "D1ZE9424-EA".

The BOSS 302 distributor for both 1969 and 1970 is a dual point, vacuum advance, vacuum retard design. It carries part number C9ZF-12127-E. The 1971 BOSS 302 part number is D1ZF-12127-AA. 2023年10月11日 · The BOSS 302 flywheel is cast iron and the casting carries engineering part number C9ZE-6375C (released as C9ZE-6375-C). The assembly is completed with a starter ring gear which has 164 teeth. The assembly has a twenty-eight (28) ounce (oz.) imbalance and weighs thirty (30) pounds (lbs.).
