A South Florida sheriff delivered a blistering rebuke of his own deputies this week, saying his department “failed” in its handling of a lengthy domestic violence case that he says culminated in a triple homicide.

The sheriff said the deputies failed to take actions that could have prevented three deaths. “There will be people that will lose their job over this,” he said.

Seven Broward County, Florida, deputies were placed on leave as the sheriff investigates what he called the "piss-poor" handling of an ongoing domestic violence dispute that ended in a triple homicide.
