Officials say preliminary data from the midair crash between an airliner and an Army helicopter showed conflicting indications about the aircrafts’ altitudes when they collided near a Washington, D.C.

The jet was transporting a child who had just completed treatment at Shriners Children's hospital, her mother and four crew members.
