The Mercedes-Benz G-Class has been racking up accolades for its 2025 edition. Motor Trend‘s review hailed its engineering and performance as “essentially off the charts,” while Top Gear argued that “the G-Class has real strength in depth.

No further information was given regarding powertrains, looks, or even a release date. There have been reports going around that the baby G-Wagen will be powered exclusively by an electric powertrain, but Mercedes has yet to confirm that. If that does come to pass, it could use a platform that is somehow related to the current electric G-Wagen.

Perhaps more exciting than the baby G is that Mercedes also plans to make future EVs and combustion cars share a design language.

The brand also announced that, in a huge design shift, future Mercedes EVs and gas-powered cars will look alike.
