Spirit Airlines is reportedly planning to expand its route network by adding 28 new routes. However, as part of its updated schedule, the US-based low-cost airline will also discontinue service to five destinations.

Florida-based Spirit Airlines announced Monday that it will offer nonstop service between Memphis International Airport (MEM) and Detroit Metro Airport (DTW), starting May 8. The airline will operate a 182-seat Airbus 321 aircraft for the Memphis-to-Detroit service.

Spirit Airlines has announced its first service at the Chattanooga Airport with the addition of three new non-stop flights.

Spirit Airlines announced on March 5 that it will introduce new flights from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport to Chattanooga, Tennessee, and Columbia, South Carolina. The Dania Beach-based airline’s new routes, set to begin in June, mark an expansion for the airline as it works to emerge from bankruptcy.

Additionally, Spirit Airlines offers a daily direct flight from Boston to San Juan, Puerto Rico (SJU), between February 12 and March 18, 2025. While this direct flight to Puerto Rico is served daily, please note that there have been no multiple flights per day so far.
