Several members from the Los Angeles City Council will be introducing a package of legislation aimed at protecting immigrant residents and strengthening the sanctuary city ordinance.

The legislation will address critical issues including workers' rights and ongoing deportations across the U.S.

Some council members said the proposal needed more information and clarification and the matter was sent back to the Housing and Homelessness Committee.
