Multiple adults, children and an infant were involved in the collision late Thursday night, the Austin-Travis County Emergency Medical Services said.

At least five people died and 11 were hurt in a crash involving at least 17 vehicles, including semi-trucks, on Interstate 35 in north Austin late Thursday night, police said.

A man was charged Friday with intoxication manslaughter after five people were killed and several injured in a late-night wreck in Austin, Texas, that involved over a dozen vehicles on Interstate 35, authorities said.
