A Navy SEAL lacked credentials to lead a workout that left nine Tufts lacrosse players hospitalized with rhabdomyolysis, a report found.

A Navy Seal who led a strenuous workout that sent nine Tufts University lacrosse players to the hospital appears to have lacked the credentials to supervise the group exercise.

The report, released Friday, found that the Navy SEAL-trained alum lacked knowledge of "NCAA policies and regulations, or Tufts Sports Medicine Operational Policies and Guidelines."

The session, which left nine players hospitalized, was run by a person who lacked credentials, a review commissioned by the university found.

An independent review says a third-party Navy SEAL instructor who led a strenuous training session that led to the hospitalization of lacrosse players at Tufts University appeared to lack credentials to supervise group exercise.

The workout led to 24 players being diagnosed with a condition commonly known as “rhabdo” that’s associated with overtraining and can be life threatening.
