Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has told the head of the country's Shin Bet domestic security service Ronen Bar that he plans to bring his dismissal before the government this week, a statement from Netanyahu's office said on Sunday.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has decided to remove Ronen Bar as head of the Shin Bet domestic security agency and will seek cabinet approval for the move this week, the Prime Minister's Office said in a statement.

Mr Netanyahu said he has had ‘ongoing distrust’ with the director of the Shin Bet internal security service, Ronen Bar.
