EAST HARTFORD, Conn. — Pratt & Whitney is officially laying off a number of staff members, according to a spokesperson for the company.

East Hartford-based Pratt & Whitney is cutting some jobs, a company spokesperson said Wednesday. The spokesperson said the company will conduct “a small reduction of salaried positions globally” to “reinvest in high-priority programs and better meet the strong demand for aerospace products.

Jet-engine maker Pratt & Whitney recorded a profit in 2024, rebounding from the rare loss that it incurred in 2023.
