LACKAWANNA COUNTY, Pa. — A new way of seeing the history of anthracite coal mining brought Pam Hummell of the Grove City Historical Society to the Lackawanna County Coal Mine Tour in Scranton.
During the tour you’ll see the original 700-foot-deep mine shaft – once contracted to produce 90,000 tons of anthracite coal – as well as a former miner's hospital, among other highlights.
