Changes are coming to the U.S. Postal Service. It was announced earlier this week that Postmaster General Louis DeJoy will be stepping down from his post as leader of the U.S. Postal Service. Then the Washington Post reported Thursday that President Donald Trump is expected to fire the entire USPS Board of Governors and move the USPS to the purview of the Commerce Department.

U.S. Postmaster General Louis DeJoy, who was appointed during President Donald Trump's first term, recently announced plans to step down. DeJoy wrote a resignation letter to the USPS's Board of Governors on Feb. 17 outlining his service through a global pandemic and inflation.

Postmaster General Louis DeJoy's nearly five-year tenure was marked by criticism he received from Republicans and Democrats.
