The National Weather Service forecasts that snow could begin falling in the morning before changing over to rain as the temperature climbs into the mid 30s in the afternoon. Forecasters expect an accumulation of about an inch of snow before it becomes a slushy mess.

Forecasters warn that the snow will be "wet and sticky," and could cause localized power outages and tree damage.

Weather models could shift either way, to all rain or a wintry mix, a National Weather Service forecaster said.
