The centrist House Democrats who House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) may need to avert a government shutdown are lining up against his plan — with many pointedly noting they haven't heard a word from his leadership team.

Speaker Johnson said in a press conference that he believes the GOP has enough votes to keep the government funded.

Johnson and House Majority Leader Steve Scalise, who are both from Louisiana, said Trump personally played a big role in accomplishing both legislative wins.
