Chicago Cubs manager Craig Counsell named who will be the starting pitcher for the team's spring training opener against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Josh Frydman of GN Sports sat down with second-year Cubs manager Craig Counsell for a one-on-one interview Sunday from spring training in Mesa, Ariz. Counsell reflected on his first season with the team and says he feels more comfortable going into his second season after building relationships.

“I feel like last year [manager Craig Counsell and I] could have had better communication,” Suzuki said through interpreter Edwin Stanberry. “So going into this year, I feel like we’re improving upon that — and then communicate better during the season.”
