We stayed at Buckskin state park for 9 days. We had to switch spots because of availability. Their campground is very nice. Electric and water sites with a dump station. There’s dry camping along the…TravelingBum52的完整评论

This a beautiful park, at least the piece of it that we saw. We went strictly to cool off in the Colorado River. It was a very hot day. You can go in for $10 a car load which gives you access to t…wbforever的完整评论

Yes, you can tether your boat at anchor in the water overnight. As the other person stated, you will find that the water level rises and drops each day as water is released from the dams. If you tie your boat off too close to shore, you will find it high and dry the next morning. The other cautionary note is that you cannot always maintain visual contact with your boat/ watercraft from most of the campsites, unless you rent one of the Cabanas. I would guesstimate that 75% of the boaters put their boats back on the trailers for the night and wait for the water levels to rise before venturing back to the river. There are also several areas that become very shallow and hazardous to navigation when the water level is down.

No, there are not any fire rings at the campsites. There is a standard BBQ on a post and a picnic table at each site that can be moved to suit your configuration, but open fires are not allowed due to the fire hazard and the issues associated with disposing the hot coals and ash. You may wish to consult with the ranger about using an enclosed fire pit, or a washing machine tub, but based upon my experience open fires are not permitted.
