Our guide told us that he had been here about 50 times and only saw it thunder twice. Both times there was a storm out in the ocean, then the cloud cover made the scenery elsewhere impossible to see.… lilirishstar的完整评论
can you access this in Nov? I know the actual loop road is open until Dec. Wanted to know if you can still go down the steps

Yes it was open. Just visited (11/26/19) and it was still open. But the area down by thunder hole is closed off. You can still go down and hear the thunder and explore the upper areas.

We took a cab (maybe $20. for 4ppl) to Acadia National Park and took a carriage ride $36.pp. It was excellent and informative. Got on to there bus (right there) and did the park loop and saw Thunder Hole and a lot of beautiful scenery. This was a great way to spend the whole day.

People have brought their dogs on leashes here. Keep your dog's temperament in mind. The crowds at the peak viewing times (which will include children) may be difficult to navigate. If you want to check the tidepools, crawling over the rocks may be hard for man's best friend. If you do bring the canine, consider harness vs. leash. More control, more hand-holds, less chokiness. Please remember to pick up after your pet, especially as my kids love to show off every rock/shell that they can find. I don't want them finding a soft brown "rock".
