There are several national associations like PADI, NAUI , SDI. They all have find an instructor functions. That will help. Also, look for Discover Scuba days. If you call Lake Phoenix, ask them about the companies that own pavilions by the Lake. These are all good scuba companies. Call one of them. Scuba Jam will be at Lake Phoenix Sept 1-3 this year. If your group is already certified, reach out to the instructor who taught them. If you are traveling out of country, many resorts have scuba.

Absolutely safe, and there is a female instructor on staff. Food is available on property Saturday and Sunday and there is a resturant for lunch and dinner about 3 miles away. There is also a subway and dunkin donuts about the same distance away.
