康科德是美国新罕布什尔州州府、麦立马克县县治。位于该州中东南部，与马萨诸塞州接近，离新英格兰重镇波士顿约一个小时的车程。梅里马克河流经市区。 康科德原为土著人活动区，这里河流、湖泊纵横，鲑鱼、鲟鱼、鲱鱼沿着梅里马克河不断迁徙，是捕鱼的好地方。1725年至1727年来自马萨诸塞的移民在梅里马克河西边定居，1733年定名为拉姆福德。但在1741年的时候，有人发现拉姆福德应属新罕布什尔管辖，由于当时北美的13个殖民地还是英国政府的领地，引发法律纠纷，官司打了20多年，一直打到英国上诉法院也没有得到解决，直到1765年，才由新罕布什尔总督提出方案，最终解决了争端，并将城市重新命名为“康科德”，意为“和睦”，表示友好地解决了争端。
