I really doubt if dogs are allowed because it would freak the birds out. Call them to make sure my suspicions are correct. Can you take your dog to the NC Zoo?

Most of the paths are paved, and entrances are wide enough for wheelchairs. There are some gates to various exhibits that need to be opened and closed. You will find a few docents/employees around who are very helpful. There's a bit of a grade but nothing very difficult. Trust me, your family will enjoy the visit very much.
